Erin Jackson, MS PT, CPI, owner

Erin Jackson, who has been practicing in orthopedic physical therapy since 1994, has an obvious empathy with her patients. An athlete who once sustained a painful injury, she knows first-hand how effective physical therapy can be in returning a person to a full and pain-free life.

Erin earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology (including completion of the pre-med curriculum) from the University of Georgia in 1990. She received her Master of Science degree in Physical Therapy from The University of the Pacific, Thomas J. Long School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in 1994.

She has also been an athlete her entire life, playing volleyball, basketball and softball in high school. She played Division 1 volleyball for The Ohio State University and The University of Georgia. While playing volleyball in college, Erin sustained a severe injury to her lower back and was diagnosed with two herniated discs in her lumbar spine.

She avoided surgical intervention by focusing on intense rehabilitation. She was able to return to the court in four months. Erin says that experience is what propelled her to pursue a career in orthopedic physical therapy and sports medicine and ultimately to open her own clinic.

Erin also spent many years coaching club and high school volleyball. While earning her Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy, she coached her former high school team (St. Mary’s High) for three years, taking them to the state semi-finals in Division IAA for two consecutive years.

Erin continues to advance her knowledge and skills and has taken numerous specialized courses in orthopedic and manual therapy, strength training and design, hand therapy, pre and post-natal fitness, shoulder, knee and spine courses.

She also earned a certification as an Ergonomic Assessment Specialist through The Back School of Atlanta.

Erin was first introduced to Pilates during her post-graduate studies and quickly realized that with the roots of Pilates based in rehabilitation, it was a natural fit to incorporate Pilates into her physical therapy programs. She became certified in Pilates through D. K. Body Balancing Method of Pilates Rehabilitation and Conditioning in 2004.
